Position Overview

The HR Analyst position reports directly to the Manager of Talent Acquisition & Rewards within the Corporate department at our North Bay facility (Reference: 800-90-27). The role is instrumental in supporting data-driven HR decisions by gathering, verifying, and analyzing workforce information throughout the employee lifecycle. Responsibilities include preserving HR data quality, developing and managing reports and dashboards, aiding workforce planning, compliance reporting, and delivering analytical support for various HR programs and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and update HR dashboards, reports, scorecards, and metrics covering headcount, vacancies, recruitment activities, attendance, salary, and employee demographics.
  • Analyze workforce trends to generate actionable insights that assist in workforce planning, vacancy oversight, and corporate decision-making.
  • Monitor recruitment processes, staffing approvals, requisition progress, vacancy statistics, and time-to-fill measures.
  • Manage position control data, organizational charts, and track staffing changes accurately.
  • Provide analytical support for HR initiatives including attendance management, compensation and benefits, training, employment equity, and labor relations.
  • Compile information for audits, compliance inspections, legislative reporting, executive summaries, and collective agreement requirements.
  • Conduct benchmarking and research to inform HR policy, program development, and project work.
  • Ensure HRIS data accuracy through validation, audit, reconciliation, and correction activities.
  • Assist with HRIS system operations including testing, troubleshooting, documentation, workflow approvals, and end-user support.
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting protocols, data governance, workflow efficiencies, and HR system functionalities.
  • Support HR projects, continuous improvement efforts, and other assigned special tasks.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Advanced College Diploma in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Labour Relations, Information Systems, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
  • Possession or pursuit of a CHRP designation is advantageous.
  • Two to three years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with exposure to HRIS management, workforce analytics, reporting, recruitment, compensation, payroll, or business analysis.
  • Experience handling confidential employee data responsibly.
  • Proficient in data validation, auditing, reconciliation, and quality assurance techniques.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and good command of Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking, payroll, workforce management systems, and reporting tools, with Power BI familiarity considered a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of HR processes spanning recruitment, onboarding, attendance management, compensation, benefits administration, labor relations, and workforce planning.
  • Knowledge of employment laws, collective agreements, privacy standards, records management, and corporate policies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, reporting expertise, and problem-solving skills, enabling interpretation of workforce data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to maintaining data integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, work autonomously, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
