Role overview
U-Haul is looking for a practical, hands-on individual who is eager to build technical know-how as a Hitch Service Technician. In this role, you’ll work in U-Haul moving and storage center lots and use your technical skills to deliver great service to customers.
Pay and hiring note
U-Haul promotes a fast-hiring, fast-pay approach. A hands-on working interview may be scheduled, and pay is available the same day. A hiring bonus of $100 is also offered.

Key duties
- Learn U-Haul’s towing package options and be able to clearly explain them
- Help select the appropriate tow package for each customer vehicle and complete the installation
- Deliver strong service and support to U-Haul customers
- Handle additional tasks as needed
- Continue building knowledge through U-Haul University and other ongoing learning opportunities
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license with a clean and maintainable driving record
- Practical experience with basic wiring and hand or power tools
- High school diploma or an equivalent qualification
Work environment and physical demands
The role may involve moderate hazards or discomforts, including exposure to moving parts, machinery, fumes, or irritating chemicals. Safety gear or protective clothing such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields may be required.
This job can require extended periods of time both indoors and outdoors, staying in place, moving around work areas, repositioning to reach tools, and lifting at least 50 lbs with or without assistance.
