Healthpoint is a multi-specialty hospital in Abu Dhabi that offers both primary and specialist care to patients from the UAE and overseas. The hospital is dedicated to raising the standard of patient care and has earned recognition from several respected international accreditation and awards organizations.
The HIMS Administrator is responsible for maintaining and managing patient electronic medical records (EMR). The role involves both quantitative and qualitative review of records to confirm that consents and documentation comply with Joint Commission International accreditation requirements, Department of Health - Abu Dhabi (DOH) standards, and Healthpoint policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical reports to patients in person and through email.
- Release radiology images as required.
- Track outstanding reports that are still pending against patient requests.
- Upload urgent clinical documents and surgical consent forms.
- Review physicians’ documentation each day, including note type and turnaround time across all encounters such as outpatient, inpatient, and discharge summaries.
- Take calls from the ADTC call center for urgent patient requests, including handling the business portal for sleep study referrals and ADNOC requests for medical reports.
- Guide physicians on policy requirements and documentation gaps or deficiencies.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance, ensure records are released within the required timeframe, and verify the accuracy of all released information.
- Handle a high daily volume of record requests, including approximately 70 to 100+ patients in ROI and an average of 100+ OPD report uploads per day.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of progressive professional experience.
- Background in Health Information Management or a Medical Records department.
- Hands-on ability to use health information system (HIS) software.
- Working knowledge of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Comfort using the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication.
- High attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Prior customer-facing patient service experience is mandatory.
