Role overview
Westcare Homecare Ltd is hiring a Healthcare Assistant to support clients in their homes across Castlebellingham, Blackrock, Termofeckin, Llyod Village, and Carlingford. This is a meaningful care role for someone who wants to be valued, backed by a supportive team, and fairly compensated.
The company welcomes applicants with prior care experience as well as people moving across from retail, hospitality, customer service, or family caregiving. Training will be provided to help the successful candidate build a career in healthcare.
Pay and working arrangements
Pay can reach up to €21.50 per hour. Additional benefits include paid mileage, fuel cards, paid holidays, flexible working hours, a Bike to Work Scheme, retirement plans, free uniforms, and a Refer a Friend bonus. The role also includes recognition through Carer of the Month, ongoing learning opportunities, and career progression.
The position is permanent and can be either full-time or part-time. It is an on-site role.
What you will be doing
- Assisting clients with everyday personal care tasks such as washing, dressing, and meal support
- Supporting mobility and helping clients remain as independent as possible
- Offering companionship and emotional reassurance
- Observing client wellbeing and escalating any concerns when needed
- Helping maintain a safe, comfortable home setting
What the employer is looking for
- A full Irish driving licence and access to a car
- QQI Level 5, or an equivalent qualification
- A dependable, compassionate, and positive approach
- Previous care experience is helpful but not mandatory
