Position Details
The role is based at Radius Matamata located at 20 Elizabeth Street, Matamata. This is a part-time position with 10 working hours per week scheduled on a rotating roster. Please note that Radius Care does not assist with work visa applications or changes for part-time healthcare assistants; applicants must hold a valid visa with open work rights and preferably have six or more months before visa expiry.
Remuneration will be determined based on completed relevant caregiving qualifications.
Role Summary
As a Healthcare Assistant, your primary responsibility involves delivering outstanding care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role focuses on fostering meaningful connections with residents and their families while collaborating with the care team to carry out individualized care plans. Comprehensive training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting residents with personal care tasks and encouraging their independence in decision-making.
- Completing assigned duties efficiently and within expected timeframes.
- Responding promptly to residents' requests, offering helpful and relevant information.
- Maintaining and regularly updating residents' healthcare records.
- Assisting with handovers during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.

Required Skills and Experience
- Possession of the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills demonstrating empathy towards residents and their families.
- Good written and oral communication abilities.
- Willingness and flexibility to work rostered shifts.
