Health Coach - Remote (West Coast)

Position Overview

WellTheory is growing its Health Coaching team and is seeking a dedicated Health Coach to deliver our unique care program to members. This is a full-time position with benefits, operating Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM PST.

Candidate Profile

• 2 to 3 years of experience as a health coach, preferably with autoimmune patients.
• Mandatory NBC-HWC Board Certification.
• Health coaching certification from an NBC-HWC accredited training program.
• A client-first mindset, advocating prioritizing client needs.
• Expertise in motivational interviewing with practical application experience to reveal ambivalence, foster intrinsic motivation, and support lasting behavioral changes.
• Solid background in behavior change methodologies including SMART goal setting and evaluating readiness to change, skillfully integrating these with motivational interviewing.

Preferred Experience and Attributes

• Knowledge or experience with autoimmune diseases is an advantage.
• Previous work in digital health companies is preferred.
• Ability to thrive in uncertain and evolving environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Incorporate motivational interviewing in every member interaction to assist members in resolving ambivalence and fostering self-motivation.
• Collaborate with members to create and nurture personalized, sustainable goals supporting behavior modification.
• Support clinical care plans from dietitians and healthcare professionals, helping members translate them into daily habits.
• Guide members in adopting anti-inflammatory lifestyle choices regarding stress, sleep, and movement.
• Evaluate members' change readiness and tailor coaching methods to their developmental stage.
• Engage in ongoing specialized training to deepen expertise in functional health and autoimmune treatment protocols.
• Coordinate across dietitians, clinicians, and broader teams to embed WellTheory’s care model into member support.

Employment Details and Benefits

• Fully remote role.
• Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM Pacific Time.
• Full-time employment.
• Salary range from $64,000 to $73,000 annually, influenced by experience and requiring active NBC-HWC or equivalent board certification.
