About the Role

STL Logistics Ltd is recruiting a Health & Safety Officer to enhance safety management across three bustling logistics and warehousing locations in Limerick. This role is predominantly site-based and involves direct engagement with the workforce to ensure safety protocols are actively maintained in a fast-moving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive site inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors, ensuring everyone is aware of safety expectations.
  • Organize and lead manual handling training sessions, including refresher courses, to promote safe physical practices.
  • Contribute to the development and upkeep of risk assessments, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other safe work mechanisms.
  • Perform regular site inspections, audits, and deliver toolbox talks to reinforce safety messages.
  • Facilitate incident reporting processes including investigations and follow-up corrective measures.
  • Provide practical health and safety advice to site managers and supervisors to support compliance.
  • Maintain detailed and precise documentation of training and compliance records.
  • Coordinate with external training organizations and regulatory authorities as needed.

Requirements

  • Possession of an Occupational Health & Safety qualification, preferably a Diploma or higher.
  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety Officer capacity or a related health and safety role.
  • Extensive expertise in delivering manual handling training and conducting site inductions.
  • Thorough understanding of Irish Health & Safety laws and regulations.
  • Preferably experienced in logistics, warehousing, transport, or industrial sectors.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of engaging with staff at all organizational levels.
  • Valid full driving license and willingness to travel between local operational sites.
