Description de l'emploi
Role overview
This position is focused on turning a strong market position, solid capacity, and financial strength into contracted revenue growth in the Saudi flour market. The business is operating in a period of major change, so the hire must bring sharp commercial judgement, hands-on execution, and a strong go-to-market mindset to build new B2B revenue streams and strengthen the brand’s future growth path.
The role sits at the intersection of procurement economics, commercial strategy, B2B account development, export readiness, and premium consumer growth. It is designed for someone who can convert market intelligence into action and build durable customer relationships across industrial, foodservice, retail, and export channels.
Strategic B2B build-out
You will be expected to create a structured B2B growth plan across industrial bakeries, food manufacturers, QSR, HORECA, and distribution partners. The role calls for a shift away from reactive legacy coverage toward a proactive account-led model built on partnerships, customer segmentation, and commercial discipline.
- Develop and carry out a complete mapping and tiering exercise for B2B customers across all priority segments.
- Create a key-account acquisition approach that moves the business from passive coverage to active relationship building.
- Set up a market intelligence system to monitor competitors, pricing, and customer movements, then translate those insights into commercial decisions.
Marketing and positioning
The role also includes shaping the commercial and marketing agenda so that the product story is aligned with customer needs and sales priorities. Technical content, application-led positioning, and account-specific campaigns will be important tools in supporting the B2B sales effort.
- Work jointly with the commercial and marketing functions to shape the marketing plan.
- Prepare technical sales materials, use-case-led product positioning, and account-based marketing initiatives that help deepen customer share of wallet.
Export market entry
A further focus area is export expansion into East Africa and the GCC. The hire will need to build a practical commercial plan covering target accounts, logistics, pricing, and regulatory considerations so the business can move quickly once trade conditions allow.
- Lead the development of an export commercial plan for East Africa and the GCC.
- Define target customers, logistics routes, pricing structure, and compliance requirements for market entry.
- Ensure the business is prepared to launch when wheat procurement liberalization and export conditions are fully in place.
Product and pricing strategy
Another key responsibility is shaping the go-to-market approach for functional and specialty flour lines. This includes connecting R&D direction with demand signals from both business and consumer segments, while building a pricing model that balances margin and volume across different product tiers.
- Own the go-to-market strategy for whole wheat, gluten-free, fortified, and other specialty flour products.
- Link product development work with signals from B2B and B2C demand.
- Design pricing that improves the margin mix across subsidized bulk, unsubsidized B2B, and premium consumer ranges.
B2C premiumization
The role also supports growth in consumer-packaged flour, especially smaller pack formats. The aim is to build a stronger premium presence around higher-growth flour variants and win a larger share of the value pool through branding and retail execution.
- Drive the move toward consumer-packaged flour as a major high-margin growth area, particularly for packs of 10 kg and below.
- Build brand strength and retail visibility for whole wheat, gluten-free, and functional or fortified flours.
- Capture a larger share of the premium flour segment through sharper positioning and market presence.
Why a commodities background matters
This is not a conventional FMCG marketing assignment. The right person needs a background in commodities or agri-food because the opportunity depends on understanding procurement, B2B contracting, and consumer behaviour together. Success in the role requires someone who can connect upstream economics with downstream commercial strategy.
- Understand how procurement dynamics influence commercial decisions.
- Bring experience in trading, milling inputs, or agri-commodities to structure long-term supply relationships.
- Build value propositions around volume, service, and account retention.
- Navigate export trade factors such as freight, benchmark pricing, currency exposure, and sovereign or quasi-sovereign buyers.
- Bridge commodity economics with branding and pack strategy for end consumers.
Additional information
The employer is working on several mandates for clients in the agri-commodity sector. These businesses already have strong brand awareness, sizeable capacity, and meaningful financial backing. The main challenge is to convert those advantages into revenue at scale through better market intelligence, sharper execution, and stronger commercial partnerships.
