About the Role
Located in Sydney, a prominent Australian content company is searching for a Head of Social to craft and oversee social media strategy across a diverse portfolio of prominent lifestyle, entertainment, home, luxury, and consumer brands. This company boasts a broad national presence, an engaged digital following, and a strong emphasis on innovation as it progresses into a contemporary, omnichannel content business.
Role Significance
Positioned within the central Audience team, which is responsible for shaping social strategies, exploring platform opportunities, and establishing best practices organization-wide, this role focuses exclusively on strategy and stakeholder engagement rather than content creation. The Head of Social will collaborate directly with Editors in Chief, merging platform knowledge with editorial direction to design social strategies that enhance audience growth and maximize return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and lead social media strategies for the company's most influential brands.
- Spot emerging trends across social platforms and convert insights into actionable guidance.
- Partner closely with editorial leaders to improve social storytelling and content strategies.
- Confidently present ideas to senior management and impact decision-making processes.
- Create frameworks, insights, and best practices for use across all brands.
- Focus efforts on initiatives that drive audience growth and efficient use of resources.
Candidate Profile
- Experience working within multi-brand organizations or agency settings.
- Strong ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Excellent presentation skills, able to command attention in leadership meetings.
- Comprehensive knowledge of major social media platforms.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills capable of simplifying complex issues.
- Commercially savvy with understanding of how social media contributes to revenue growth.
