About the Role
Our client is a newly launched global humanitarian organization committed to tackling complex reconstruction, infrastructure, and stabilization challenges worldwide. They are building a top-tier leadership team to create the operational backbone necessary for their expanding mission. This executive position offers a unique chance to design and implement a comprehensive procurement function from scratch, not simply manage an existing system.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and oversee the organization's global procurement function from the ground up.
- Formulate procurement strategies, operational models, governance structures, policies, and procedures.
- Create scalable processes for sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and vendor governance.
- Implement procurement systems, including technology platforms, analytics, and reporting tools.
- Develop strategic partnerships with suppliers across diverse categories such as goods, services, construction, logistics, technology, and professional services.
- Design procurement controls, supplier due diligence methods, and risk management frameworks.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Security, and executive teams to meet organizational goals.
- Recruit, guide, and nurture a high-performing procurement team.
- Foster a culture based on accountability, transparency, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Required Expertise
- Over 15 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement or supply chain leadership roles.
- Proven track record in building procurement organizations, capabilities, or operating models from inception.
- Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and governance.
- Experience with complex global entities such as humanitarian organizations, infrastructure programs, government contractors, international NGOs, or development agencies.
- Hands-on experience implementing procurement technologies, supplier management systems, and utilizing data-driven procurement methods.
- Executive communication skills with the ability to influence senior management and external partners.

Additional Details
This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Location is remote within the United States preferred, with occasional domestic and international travel required.
