About the Role
We are seeking a Head of Process Engineering to join a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company located in Lower Saxony, Germany. This role is perfect for an engineer who thrives on tackling complex manufacturing issues in a GMP-regulated environment rather than maintaining existing practices. The position offers a chance to become an essential technical expert supporting vital production processes and shaping the future reliability and efficiency of the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering leadership and technical expertise across diverse manufacturing operations including fermentation, lyophilisation, aseptic filling, utilities, and packaging.
- Lead root cause analyses and resolve complex process and machinery challenges.
- Implement process optimization and continuous improvement projects.
- Support equipment qualification and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) processes.
- Manage deviations, CAPAs, and regulatory change controls within a GMP framework.
- Serve as a technical mentor and recognized subject matter expert within the organization.
- Assist with technology transfers, scale-up initiatives, and drive operational excellence efforts.
Candidate Profile
- Degree holder in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, vaccine, biotech, or GMP-controlled manufacturing settings.
- Strong knowledge of process engineering principles and manufacturing workflows.
- Proficient in handling deviations, CAPAs, change controls, and conducting root cause investigations.
- Familiarity with equipment qualification and validation protocols.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in German and English is a distinct advantage.
