Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site leadership position in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Head of Operations will be accountable for the smooth running of day-to-day hospital activities across clinical and non-clinical functions. The role is centered on improving operational efficiency, maintaining compliance with regulations and quality requirements, and enhancing the overall patient experience. It also involves shaping and applying operational processes, supervising departmental performance, and supporting the hospital’s long-term growth through effective resource use and ongoing improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily hospital operations across both clinical and support functions to keep services running efficiently.
- Track and improve departmental performance, identifying areas where processes can be streamlined.
- Coordinate with different teams to ensure smooth collaboration and consistent execution of work.
- Develop, refine, and enforce operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure workflows meet regulatory expectations, quality benchmarks, and patient service standards.
- Oversee budgets, staffing/resource allocation, and utilization to support sustainable performance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at operational excellence.
- Work closely with senior leaders, medical professionals, and internal support teams to align operations with strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Substantial background in operations management, with hands-on experience in process improvement and healthcare or hospital operational standards.
- Strong ability to analyze performance data, spot patterns, and use insights to guide operational decisions.
- Demonstrated leadership and people-management experience, including mentoring teams and working across departments.
- Clear and effective communication skills for interacting with clinical teams, management, and outside stakeholders in both spoken and written form.
- Solid budgeting capability, including cost monitoring, resource planning, and financial oversight.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a similar discipline; a master’s degree is an added advantage.
- Extensive experience in healthcare operations, ideally in hospitals or specialized medical facilities.
- High level of organization, strong attention to detail, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a demanding environment.
- Working knowledge of UAE healthcare regulations and accreditation requirements is essential.
