Overview
Lead the financial reporting and planning functions to ensure precise, compliant, and timely consolidated group performance reports and variance analyses for management review. Manage the delivery of quarterly and half-year financial statements per regulatory and accounting standards. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial risk management across group and entity levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the timely preparation of quarterly, half-yearly, and annual financial statements for wholly owned and joint venture entities, ensuring they meet IFRS, US GAAP, and Corporate Services Agreement requirements.
- Lead consolidation of group financial reports and variance analyses for management, maintaining high accuracy and compliance with IFRS.
- Prepare and consolidate Management Information System (MIS) packages for various stakeholders including management, joint venture partners, and board members.
- Ensure prompt preparation and presentation of materials to the Board of Directors, and deliver necessary financial analysis to all key parties.
- Present performance results at CFO quarterly review meetings.
- Manage the planning and interaction with external auditors for annual audits, half-yearly reviews, and interim audits, ensuring timely responses to audit queries.
- Analyze financial impacts of strategic initiatives such as growth, asset divestment, mergers & acquisitions, financing, and leasing transactions.
- Supervise monthly operating expense reporting and variance commentary for internal vessel technical managing companies.
- Lead ongoing development and upkeep of MIS and reporting tools, including Power BI, to ensure reliable financial data and support team skill enhancement and knowledge sharing.
- Steer the preparation and consolidation of annual budgets and both short- and long-term forecasts for Nakilat, ensuring alignment with management expectations and comprehensive analytical explanations.
- Plan and present financial information for joint venture board meetings, including annual budget presentations.
- Oversee corporate financial risk management activities, including risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation strategies across projects; act as the organization's Risk Champion.
- Monitor internal key performance indicators, collaborate with different departments for performance reviews, and ensure adherence to financial control policies.
- Achieve all functional objectives and key performance indicators within approved plans and timelines.
- Lead preparation of ad-hoc financial models and analyses to support strategic decisions.
- Provide support to Investor Relations, including regulatory and shareholder communications, as well as coordinating Board and shareholder meetings.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional accounting certification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, CMA, or equivalent.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in a multinational environment, ideally within a similar sector.
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of accounting and financial frameworks including US GAAP and IFRS.
- Strong grasp of financial concepts and analytical/statistical methods, with ability to leverage data to develop and implement operational plans.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Capability and readiness to engage hands-on with complex financial modeling.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken; Arabic proficiency preferred.
