About the Role

MESHKI is hiring a Head of Design to shape, refine and safeguard the brand’s product identity so that every collection, category and product expression feels commercially strong, creatively distinct and instantly recognisable as MESHKI.

This senior leadership position sits at the centre of the product function and reports to the Co-CEOs and the Head of Buying & Product Development. You will collaborate closely with Buying, Planning, Garment Technology, Sourcing, Creative and Ecommerce teams to turn product ideas into strong commercial outcomes and distinctive brand expressions.

Applicants should include an up-to-date portfolio with their CV. International relocation is open for this appointment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shape and safeguard the MESHKI design identity by setting a clear and consistent creative direction across all categories so the product is distinctive, desirable and clearly aligned to the brand.
  • Identify and evolve the silhouettes, fabrics and product signatures that can grow into long-term brand pillars, in partnership with Buying and Planning.
  • Lead the seasonal design direction and ensure range harmony by working with the founders and the wider product team so every collection, capsule and drop supports one unified brand vision.
  • Raise creative standards across the design team by improving sketches, fabric choices, colour stories, silhouettes and finishing so the product stays fresh, original and competitive.
  • Lead, coach and grow a high-performing design team while building a culture that balances creative excellence with commercial awareness.
  • Work with Buying, Planning and Trade teams, using sell-through, return rate, margin and customer feedback data to guide design choices and keep the range aligned with business goals.
  • Partner with Garment Technology, Sourcing and Production to improve fit consistency, lower return risk and strengthen overall product reliability.
  • Help determine which categories MESHKI should own in the market, improving range clarity and ensuring each category has a strong identity and purpose.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Ecommerce and Brand teams so design intent is reflected accurately in campaigns, product pages and customer-facing content.
  • Create stronger design processes and standards that support a more disciplined calendar from concept through sample review and post-launch analysis, while reducing wasted development effort and reactive work.

Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience in design within contemporary womenswear, premium fashion, high-growth DTC or global retail environments, supported by a strong portfolio of commercially successful and creatively differentiated work.
  • A sharp commercial eye with the ability to create products that are not only attractive, but also desirable, ownable and relevant on a global scale, balancing originality with business discipline.
  • Experience creating product icons and structuring ranges, including the development of styles, silhouettes and signatures that become closely associated with a brand over time.
  • Strong people leadership skills with a background in managing, mentoring and developing design teams while setting clear standards and encouraging creativity and accountability.
  • Credibility working across functions with Buying, Planning, Garment Technology, Sourcing and Creative teams, and the ability to turn design direction into commercially workable product.
  • Ability to use sell-through performance, return data, customer feedback and commercial results to sharpen design direction without weakening the brand identity.
  • Deep knowledge of fit, fabrics and construction, and an understanding of how upstream design decisions affect product quality, return rates and customer satisfaction.
