Role Overview

Based in Darwin, this leadership position is responsible for guiding financial operations across the entire DCOH Group. The role entails overseeing financial reporting, governance, compliance, risk management, and overall financial operations. Reporting directly to the CFO and managing the finance team, this role supports both the CFO and business leadership in enhancing financial results, reinforcing controls, and facilitating strategic financial decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct group month-end and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely consolidated reporting and statutory financial statements.
  • Supervise statutory compliance, tax obligations, auditing processes, and regulatory financial reporting.
  • Manage core accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, treasury, revenue recognition, and cost accounting.
  • Develop and enforce robust financial controls, governance structures, accounting policies, and procedures across the group.
  • Oversee balance sheet reconciliations to assure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
  • Provide insightful financial analyses and recommendations to support strategic business decisions and enhance performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and cultivate the finance team fostering a performance-driven and accountable culture.
  • Champion continuous improvements in financial systems, reporting, control frameworks, and operational efficiency.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and overall financial planning activities throughout the group.
  • Collaborate with finance leads of various business units to maintain consistent financial practices and governance standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with auditors, banks, advisors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous professionalism and high standards in alignment with the company’s Code of Conduct.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), or equivalent postgraduate qualification with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Possess at least 10 years of comprehensive experience in accounting and finance functions, including senior leadership roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical accounting standards such as AASB, IFRS, taxation, and statutory reporting obligations.
  • Proven expertise in audit management, governance frameworks, and controlled financial environments.
  • Experienced in banking operations, cash flow, and financial risk management.
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated ability to analyze financial metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Track record of leading and nurturing high-achieving finance teams.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and collaborating at all organizational levels.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on process enhancement.
  • Prior experience in construction, property development, hospitality, or project-based sectors is highly advantageous.
