About the Company
Our client is a diverse regional conglomerate with multiple subsidiaries operating across Southeast Asia and Greater China, including countries like Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and China. As they continue expanding, they seek a Group Chief People Officer to implement a unified people strategy, enhance leadership strength, and foster a high-performance culture across all entities.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this strategic yet hands-on position demands a seasoned HR leader capable of working effectively throughout varied businesses, geographic markets, and cultures.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and spearhead a cohesive Group-wide People and Culture strategy.
- Create pragmatic leadership, performance, and people management frameworks for all operating companies.
- Coach executive leaders and assist employees moving into managerial positions.
- Enhance leadership accountability, managerial expertise, and organizational culture.
- Spot emerging cultural and organizational challenges ahead of escalation.
- Serve as a confidential point of escalation for sensitive leadership and employee issues.
- Oversee succession planning, talent growth, and leadership pipeline development initiatives.
- Regularly conduct organizational and people reviews alongside business leaders.
- Administer performance improvement plans for leaders and employees who underperform persistently.
- Evaluate and vet senior hires, critical recruitment needs, and major headcount proposals.
- Collaborate with the CEO and executive team on organizational design, workforce planning, and growth strategy.
- Professionally represent the company with international partners, investors, advisors, and senior external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Extensive senior-level experience in People, HR, or organizational leadership at a regional or group scale.
- Expertise managing HR functions across multiple companies, business units, or countries.
- Deep understanding of Southeast Asian business environments, particularly Indonesia.
- Proven ability to influence and mentor senior leaders across Indonesia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and/or China.
- Capability to develop managers, address underperformance, and boost leadership effectiveness.
- Experience establishing scalable people systems, policies, and operating models.
- Commercially astute and confident working closely with CEOs and senior leadership.
- Sound judgment, cultural sensitivity, and proficiency in handling complex, delicate issues.
- Adept at thriving in a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, and dynamic business setting.
