Description de l'emploi

About the company

Opteon is a global property services business delivering valuation, advisory and specialist real estate solutions across Australia, New Zealand and the United States. The organisation supports clients across a wide range of asset classes and market segments, and is currently in a strong phase of growth and transformation. Its longer-term strategy focuses on expanding organically, broadening its service mix, and growing internationally.

About the role

This opening is ideal for someone who is studying a Degree in Business (Property), or has recently finished one, and wants to start a career in property valuation. The position is available in Hamilton or Tauranga, and the Graduate Valuer will work with experienced professionals while building hands-on capability across valuation work in the Waikato and Bay of Plenty areas.

Day-to-day exposure will include property inspections, market analysis, rating valuation tasks, preparation of valuation reports, and working with a mix of residential and commercial property types. The role is designed to support long-term career development and help the successful candidate progress toward becoming a Registered Valuer.

What you will do

  • Support senior valuers on a range of property valuation assignments.
  • Carry out on-site property inspections and collect relevant property information.
  • Research market trends and comparable sales data to assist valuation work.
  • Help with rating valuation assignments.
  • Prepare valuation reports and related documentation.
  • Gain exposure to residential and commercial property valuations across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a motivated, well-spoken person who wants to build a full-time career in this field. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about property valuation, comfortable using computers, and able to communicate confidently and professionally. A current driver’s licence is required.

Candidates who meet some, but not all, of the requirements may still be considered if they show the right attitude and a willingness to continue developing professionally.

Requirements

  • Recently completed, or currently studying toward, a Bachelor of Business (Property) or a similar qualification.
  • Strong interest in property valuation as a career path.
  • Good computer skills and confidence using digital tools.
  • Clear and confident verbal communication.
  • Professional, positive attitude.
  • Current driver’s licence.

What we offer

  • Competitive pay and incentives, including professional membership support and verified CPD coverage.
  • Referral bonus for successful employee referrals.
  • Career development with access to experienced valuation specialists across residential, commercial, development and other areas, plus leadership training and LinkedIn Learning.
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance.
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing training.
  • Recognition initiatives such as annual awards, service recognition and reward programmes.
  • Confidential wellbeing support through Intellect, the company’s mental health and wellbeing platform.

Eligibility and inclusion

This role is open to people who are currently enrolled in or have recently completed a Business (Property) degree and are seeking full-time employment. The employer promotes an inclusive workplace and welcomes applications from people with disability, candidates of all ages, members of the LGBTIQA+ community, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, and people of Māori and Pacific Islander origin.
