Graduate Pest Control Technician

Role overview

Rentokil is hiring a Graduate Pest Control Technician for its Limerick branch. This is a permanent, full-time position focused on supporting customers across Limerick while learning the pest control trade through structured, industry-recognised training. No prior experience is required, and graduates from science, business management, or social science backgrounds have been successful in similar roles.

What the role involves

You will begin as a Pest Control Technician and spend the first 6 to 12 months working within a defined local area. During this period, you will be trained to identify pest issues, carry out treatments, and provide practical support to customers. Over the following 12 to 36 months, you can progress into one of several career paths, including Sales Surveyor, Field Biologist, Service Team Leader, or Key Account Manager.

Key duties

• Visit customer sites and check premises for signs of pest activity and possible risk factors.
• Carry out pest control work, including cleaning up and removing evidence of pest presence.
• Advise customers on hygiene and property upkeep to help prevent future infestations.
• Prepare clear and accurate records after each service visit.
• Deliver a professional customer experience and maintain a strong company image at all times.

Compensation and working pattern

The base salary is €30,300 per year, paid monthly. The role is expected to earn about €35,000 per year in total through bonus and commission opportunities. Working hours are Monday to Friday, averaging 39 hours per week, with the possibility of increasing to up to 48 hours in the future alongside a higher salary.

Requirements

Applicants should hold at least a 2.2 degree in a science or BSc-related subject, including Social Science, or a BA in Business Management, Hospitality, or Tourism. A full Irish driving licence is required. The role also needs someone who is comfortable working hard, meeting customers every day, and adapting to changing business needs. Depending on the position, Garda Vetting may also be required.
