About the Role
As a Graduate NPI (New Product Introduction) Industrial Engineer at Sanmina-SCI Technology India Private Limited, you will be an essential member of the product development team, focusing on launching advanced products including class 3 medical devices. Your role will encompass analyzing manufacturing methods to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and elevate quality, through implementing lean manufacturing and conducting detailed time and workflow studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new customer data packages for quotation preparation by estimating process steps and cycle times, and identifying potential issues or unique requirements.
- Calculate Non Recurring Expenses, equipment needs, and resource costs for upcoming business opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with business development, engineering, quality, and production teams to compile necessary quotation information.
- Track progress of new product projects to ensure compliance with product specifications, internal guidelines, and customer expectations.
- Ensure quotations align with corporate reporting standards.
- Provide engineering assistance throughout the product development cycle.
- Develop NPI phase plans and coordinate with all relevant teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Conduct time and process studies on existing procedures to support both new and ongoing customers.
- Design assembly processes, optimize activity sequences, and manage material handling in accordance with lean manufacturing principles.
- Apply Design for Excellence (DFx) strategies focusing on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) for new product opportunities.
- Maintain continuous compliance with quality standards and industry regulations.
- Ensure adherence to applicable health and safety laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Skillset
- Bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 8) in Engineering disciplines related to production, process, or operations.
- Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to present information clearly to customers and team members at all levels.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in MS Excel.
- Keen attention to detail and the capability to work well under pressure with flexibility.
- Basic understanding of business and financial concepts such as profitability, ROI, and carrying costs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Project management experience or credentials.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing, electronics, assembly, or cleanroom process environments.
- Knowledge of plastics molding processes.
