About the Role
Durham District School Board is hiring a permanent classroom teacher for a full-time Grade 4/5 assignment in Uxbridge, Ontario. In this role, you will help build a lively, caring classroom where students feel supported, stay engaged, and are encouraged to develop a strong love of learning.
Community and Land Acknowledgement
The board recognizes that its schools operate on lands with deep Indigenous histories and present-day connections. The Durham Region is situated within the traditional and treaty territories of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, the Mississauga Peoples, and the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. What You Will Do
- Plan and teach lessons that are engaging, curriculum-aligned, and supportive of student achievement.
- Track student learning, evaluate progress, and offer helpful feedback that supports growth.
- Maintain a classroom climate that is welcoming, positive, and inclusive for every learner.
- Work closely with fellow staff, families, and the wider community to strengthen student outcomes.
- Adjust instructional approaches and learning materials to meet varied student needs.
Qualifications and Position Details
- Ontario College of Teachers certification in good standing is required.
- FTE: 1.0.
- Assignment: Grade 4/5.
- Salary for permanent elementary teachers ranges from $53,352 to $119,967 per year, with placement determined by QECO rating and teaching experience.
- Pay will be adjusted proportionally to match the FTE of the role.

A current Criminal Background Check with vulnerable sector screening must be provided upon hire.
