Role Overview

The Gold Loan Valuer is pivotal in ensuring precise and trustworthy evaluation of gold used as collateral across various branches nationwide. This position is responsible for assessing gold purity and value, facilitating loan disbursals, conducting audits, and educating branch personnel. Upholding the highest ethical standards, confidentiality, and commitment to compliance is essential, alongside supporting customer acquisition and optimizing operational workflows.

Core Duties

  • Execute standardized valuation procedures to assess gold loans accurately.
  • Carry out detailed purity inspections of gold collateral.
  • Ensure loan disbursal processes are completed within stipulated turnaround times.
  • Conduct stock audits and valuation visits at surrounding branches.
  • Track and assist in managing delinquent loan cases to maintain portfolio quality.
  • Provide training to branch staff regarding valuation methods and fraud prevention.
  • Maintain integrity and transparency, refraining from any personal conflicts of interest.
  • Perform customer reference verifications professionally and sincerely.
  • Protect client confidentiality by not disclosing information to competitors.
  • Strictly comply with company policies and prevent unauthorized sharing.
  • Carefully safeguard company assets entrusted for fulfilling job responsibilities.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal teams to streamline valuation procedures.
  • Assist marketing and customer outreach initiatives as necessary.
  • Engage in miscellaneous tasks assigned by the department.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Graduate degree in any field from a recognized institution; postgraduate qualifications are advantageous.
  • Preferably 2 to 5 years of experience in gold valuation or related functions within retail banking or BFSI sectors.

Skills and Competencies

  • Expertise in gold purity assessment and valuation techniques.
  • Strong ethical principles with dedication to confidentiality.
  • Effective communication abilities with aptitude for conducting training sessions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel and operate in field conditions.
  • Competent in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
  • High responsibility and strict adherence to organizational policies.
