Role overview
GE Vernova is seeking an on-site supervisor for GIS work in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The position focuses on electrical and commissioning services, maintenance support, and field supervision for high-voltage switchgear and substation equipment.
What you will do
- Carry out E&C activities and maintenance work on high-voltage switchgear, including testing and commissioning tasks.
- Operate and oversee GIS and AIS equipment in substation environments, particularly 230 kV and 380 kV installations.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and apply GE and customer safety rules at the site.
- Maintain strong attention to EHS standards, site quality, and productivity improvement requirements.
- Troubleshoot faults in live electrical substations and complete corrective and preventive maintenance.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings to diagnose equipment issues.
- Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and customer site records accurately.
- Coordinate with OEM teams for unresolved repair issues and non-conformance matters.
- Support installation and project pre-arrangement work when technical assistance is needed.
- Work independently or lead a site team by assigning responsibilities and ensuring execution at site.
What GE Vernova is looking for
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline; a diploma in a relevant field from an accredited institution is also acceptable.
- At least 4 years of experience working with high-voltage switchgear.
- Practical ability to perform GIS substation site services, including maintenance.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Willingness to work across multiple remote sites within the Kingdom.
- Ability to manage site demands and customer expectations in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred strengths
- Working knowledge of MS 365 and project-related tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a quick learning ability, and leadership potential.
- Professional conduct and clear communication skills.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
