Overview
Join our team at Enva as a General Operative supporting the smooth and safe operation of a waste processing facility in Portlaoise. This role involves hands-on tasks managing the inbound, processing, and outbound activities of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials, adhering strictly to environmental regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, sort, and track incoming waste materials, including hazardous categories like paint waste, batteries, and aerosols, following company and regulatory guidelines.
- Process materials such as fuel oil according to operational procedures.
- Safely load and unload trucks, containers, and waste goods, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Execute all duties compliant with company SOPs and waste license requirements.
- Complete necessary documentation as directed by supervisors or operational demands.
- Adhere stringently to Health and Safety policies, wearing correct PPE and immediately reporting any safety concerns, accidents, or non-conformances.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility to meet health and safety standards.
- Communicate operational issues promptly to management.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and provide operational assistance across various business areas, including offsite support duties.
- Care for and report on the condition of vehicles, equipment, materials, and PPE.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Preference for physical, outdoor work blended with administrative responsibilities.
- Forklift or power pallet truck operation experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.
- Strong accuracy, detail orientation, and communication skills.
- Self-driven with adaptability to shifting business requirements.
