General Manager

About the Role

We are conducting a confidential search on behalf of a well-capitalized startup launching a technology-driven facilities services platform. This position offers an entrepreneurial leader the chance to create and scale a business from scratch, backed by seasoned investors and solid operational foundations. This role is not for maintaining an established operation; it is for someone passionate about building a business from the ground up.

The platform targets multi-location enterprise clients, coordinating facility maintenance services through a broad national network of qualified vendors. Core technology, legal, insurance, and initial vendor partnerships are already in place. The goal is to cultivate client relationships, develop operational capabilities, and guide the company toward sustainable growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive business development efforts by actively acquiring enterprise customers during early launch phases.
• Forge strategic partnerships with multi-site organizations across sectors including retail, healthcare, restaurants, hospitality, fitness, and commercial services.
• Build and lead an initial operations team, establishing scalable systems for dispatch, customer success, and quality control.
• Create and grow a strong nationwide network of subcontractors.
• Formulate pricing models while managing margins and overall business metrics.
• Oversee all operational and financial aspects of the business, holding full profit and loss accountability.
• Work closely with company executives and investors to implement growth strategies and business planning.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in leadership roles within facilities management, field services, property maintenance, commercial services, or similar sectors.
• Proven track record in selling to enterprise or multi-location organizations.
• Established connections with senior facility operations leaders such as Facilities Directors, VPs, COOs, or Operations Executives.
• Deep knowledge of managing subcontractors, pricing vendors, overseeing dispatch operations, and understanding service delivery economics.
• Successful experience in team building, launching new initiatives, or driving revenue growth, especially in entrepreneurial settings.

Preferred Background

• Experience within asset-light or subcontractor-centric facilities services businesses.
• Previous exposure as a startup founder, General Manager, or in leadership roles with a startup mindset.
• Experience leading business scaling, transformational growth, or being part of a successful expansion or exit.
• Comfortable working remotely in a high-autonomy, fast-paced environment.
