Role Overview

The General Manager is accountable for driving a profitable store by leading the team and ensuring all key performance metrics are achieved or surpassed. This role serves as the bridge between brand vision and in-store execution. The GM is responsible for sales growth, operational excellence, merchandising, product handling, and team development by coaching behaviors that deliver outstanding customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze store performance and collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities and influence key performance indicators.
• Drive profitable sales through forecasting and effective scheduling.
• Manage the store’s daily operational budget to support the profit and loss goals.
• Recruit, select, and develop a high-performing team.
• Coach and provide feedback to optimize team performance.
• Deliver training to enhance team capabilities.
• Oversee the implementation of all standard operating procedures and initiatives.
• Create and maintain an inclusive and welcoming environment.
• Optimize efficiency and productivity through strategic action plans.
• Assume Service Leader responsibilities as needed.
• Represent the Athleta brand and understand competitive market dynamics.
• Promote involvement with the local community.
• Utilize OMNI strategies to ensure seamless customer experiences.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and company standards.

Candidate Profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in retail leadership roles.
• College degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering measurable business results.
• Strong communication skills with customers and team members.
• Ability to navigate sales floor, stockroom, and office environments; capable of lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays; willingness to travel as needed.
• Strong business acumen and time management skills.
• Ability to plan and prioritize responsibilities effectively.

Compensation

Salary range for this position is $60,800 to $82,100 annually. Pay will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and location, ensuring compliance with relevant wage laws.
