Job Summary

The General Ledger Accountant will safeguard the accuracy of the club’s financial records by posting and maintaining accounting entries in the general ledger. This position plays an important part in monthly and annual closing, reconciliations, reporting, and adherence to club accounting policies and IFRS.

Core Responsibilities

  • Enter, review, and maintain general ledger transactions with accuracy and on time.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting adjustments.
  • Carry out month-end close tasks and meet all closing deadlines.
  • Match balance sheet accounts and analyze differences or unexplained variances.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and oversee cash-related general ledger balances.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and related-party transactions.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports and financial statements.
  • Support both external and internal audit work during the year-end process.
  • Manage fixed asset records and depreciation calculations.
  • Provide general ledger data to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS, VAT, ZATCA rules, and the club’s financial policies.
  • Help validate Oracle ERP entries and maintain data accuracy.
  • Work with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Procurement, and other teams to resolve accounting issues.
  • Keep complete supporting documents for all accounting entries and transactions.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in accounting controls and financial processes.
  • Handle other finance-related duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance is required. Candidates should have 3 to 5 years of experience in a General Ledger Accountant role.

Technical Skills

The role requires experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle, along with a strong understanding of IFRS, advanced Excel capability, and solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
