Fuel Farm Operator

Position Summary

The Fuel Farm Operator is responsible for the daily operational tasks at the fuel storage site, ensuring safe and efficient management of fuel resources in line with GACA guidelines.

Primary Duties

• Handle routine operational functions within the fuel farm facility.
• Receive fuel deliveries via pipelines, tanker trucks, or marine vessels.
• Monitor fuel storage tank levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Oversee the transfer of fuel between different storage tanks.
• Operate various equipment such as valves, pumps, and controls following established GACA protocols.
• Support the fueling of aircraft as required by operational needs.
• Conduct regular inspections of all equipment and infrastructure to ensure operational integrity.
• Maintain detailed logs and records to comply with GACA standards.
• Respond promptly to operational alarms and any issues that arise.
• Adhere strictly to safety procedures and emergency response plans mandated by GACA.
• Ensure the facility is kept clean and meets housekeeping standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of high school or equivalent; technical certifications are an advantage.
• Experience of 2 to 3 years in fuel handling operations or a related industry sector.
• Fundamental knowledge of fuel storage and handling practices.
• Competency in operating pumps, valves, and control systems.
• Familiarity with GACA safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in team settings.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety.
• Flexibility to work varying shift patterns including nights and weekends.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and capability to acquire airside security clearance.
