Job Overview
Oaks Wellington Hotel is seeking a professional, experienced, and enthusiastic Front Office Manager to oversee the Front Office team on a full-time basis. This role demands a warm and welcoming presence to make guests feel at home from their arrival and leadership skills to drive exemplary customer service and operational standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure exceptional guest welcome experiences by upholding service excellence and managing front office and reception operations effectively.
- Greet guests upon arrival and assist them with settling into their rooms.
- Maintain clear, professional communication to assist guests and manage accurate bookings.
- Lead and support the front office team in delivering outstanding guest interactions.
- Complete all daily operational tasks accurately and promptly.
- Address and resolve guest complaints professionally and swiftly.
- Manage guest accounts accurately and assist with daily reports.
- Optimize team scheduling to align with budget requirements.
- Assist the Hotel Manager with recruitment processes.
Work Hours and Location
The expected minimum working hours are 30 hours per week. The position is located at 89 Courtenay Place, Te Aro, Wellington 6011, New Zealand.
Compensation
The hourly wage ranges between NZD 33 to NZD 36, exclusive of KiwiSaver contributions, with payment processed fortnightly via direct bank transfer. This equates to an annual salary approximately between NZD 51,480 and NZD 56,160, excluding KiwiSaver contributions.

- Employees are entitled to paid rest breaks and unpaid meal breaks in accordance with hours worked and legal requirements.
- Leave entitlements comply with New Zealand Employment Law and the Holidays Act 2003.
- Period of Notice for termination is four weeks.
Candidate Qualifications and Requirements
- At least three years of supervisory experience in a hotel or resort environment.
- Strong people management capabilities with the talent to lead and inspire a diverse team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Superior customer service aptitude paired with a consistently positive attitude.
- Deep passion for delivering proactive, top-tier guest service.
