Role overview
This full-time, hourly, non-exempt position is based onsite at Tererboro, New Jersey airport. The role centers on keeping all assigned flights safe and secure while delivering a polished, high-touch passenger experience. Candidates who live within one hour of the airport are preferred.
Pre-flight preparation
- Study the itinerary and review passenger details before each trip.
- Coordinate catering, menus, special requests, and pre-departure meal planning with passengers, assistants, and scheduling staff.
- Prepare meals, place catering orders, verify deliveries, and stow provisions properly.
- Purchase any requested passenger items as needed.
- Make sure the cabin is spotless, stocked, and fully equipped for departure.
- Complete pre- and post-flight aircraft checklists so safety systems, galley items, electronics, and cabin equipment are flight-ready.
- Keep current on galley controls, cabin safety features, audiovisual systems, and lighting systems across aircraft types flown.
- Deliver required safety demonstrations and follow the FOM.
- Take part in pre-flight safety briefings, meetings, and international coordination calls.
In-flight service
- Deliver attentive passenger service and respond quickly to onboard needs.
- Serve food and drinks while honoring dietary needs and preferences for passengers and crew.
- Keep the aircraft clean throughout the flight, including lavatories.
- Monitor television and Wi-Fi systems and troubleshoot basic issues when needed.
Safety duties
- Maintain strong knowledge of emergency procedures and proper use of safety equipment.
- Be ready to respond to emergencies, including medical situations, using the correct procedures for each scenario.
- Follow all safety protocols during taxi, takeoff, landing, and cruise.
- Participate in the Safety Management System and Security Program.
- Provide first aid support, including AED, CPR, and DAK, with help from inflight medical service providers when required.
- Support food safety and hygiene standards and attend the bi-annual food safety course.
Communication and coordination
- Serve as a liaison between passengers, crew, and Flight Department administration.
- Keep passengers informed about flight status and other relevant updates.
- Join company meetings and training sessions as needed.
Post-flight and ongoing duties
- After each leg and at base, inspect, clean, and restock the cabin, galley, lavatories, and flight deck.
- Prepare the aircraft for pop-up flights at short notice.
- Share feedback with the flight crew and management about the flight and passenger experience.
- Notify the PIC and Maintenance team about any cabin discrepancies.
- Answer to the Captain and Flight Attendant Manager for assigned inflight work, SOP/FOM compliance, and proper use of Crew Resource Management procedures.
- Manage aircraft supply lockers and keep inventory complete on all aircraft and at base.
- Perform weekly, or more frequent as needed, aircraft and hangar stock checks, including expiry monitoring for perishables.
- Order and shop for stock and supplies when necessary.
- Handle dry cleaning and laundry for linens through hangar processes and vendors.
- Carry out any additional trip-related tasks assigned by the Captain or Flight Attendant Manager.
- Keep passenger information and travel movements confidential at all times.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should bring at least 2 years of corporate flight attendant experience. Preference is given to candidates with current FACTS or Flight Safety corporate flight attendant training. Required credentials include aviation-specific first aid certification from MedAire or an equivalent provider, AED/CPR qualification, and Food Safety certification.
Working style and scheduling
The ideal candidate communicates well, works effectively with others, and stays flexible enough to take on extra responsibilities in order to deliver excellent service. The role requires strong technology skills, the ability to manage changing schedules and irregular hours, and readiness to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be available on short notice and able to report to the hangar within 3 hours on standby days. Worldwide travel must be unrestricted.
Additional strengths
Helpful qualities include a solid understanding of aviation safety rules and procedures, the ability to stay calm under pressure, strong conflict-resolution skills, sharp attention to detail, adaptability, problem-solving ability, and excellent organization. Culinary knowledge is considered an advantage.
Compensation and benefits
The stated pay range for this role is $91,000 to $169,000 per year. Compensation may vary based on market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and performance. The total rewards package may also include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
