If you excel at mastering foundational tasks and are eager to go beyond expectations to enhance each customer journey, Air New Zealand invites you to join our distinguished Cabin Crew team based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland). We are currently inviting expressions of interest for full-time Flight Attendants joining from October 2026 onwards.
Flight attendants are the cornerstone of safety and service aboard our flights. This vital and dynamic role demands dedication, pride, and proactive commitment, often requiring quick thinking under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Our crews are celebrated for their resilient 'Can Do' spirit, exceptional punctuality, problem-solving skills, and for delivering genuine Kiwi hospitality that warmly welcomes every passenger like a friend.
Role Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and enjoyment of all passengers from boarding until arrival.
- Communicate safety and compliance protocols effectively to maintain passenger security throughout flights.
- Adapt swiftly to shifting circumstances and challenges related to flight operations.
- Contribute positively to a high-performing team culture focused on outstanding customer experiences.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Must hold New Zealand or Australian citizenship, or permanent residency, with eligibility to travel overseas and a valid passport having at least two years of validity.
- Minimum age of 18 years at the time of application.
- Preferably two years of experience in demanding, customer-facing roles demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and resilience under pressure.
- Possession of a full New Zealand Driver License and reliable personal transportation.
- Demonstrated physical fitness to sustain physically demanding duties including prolonged standing and mobility onboard.
- Willingness and availability to work rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays, to support a 24/7 operational environment.
- Japanese language skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Compliance with Air New Zealand's grooming and uniform standards is required.
Selection Process
- Completion of a digital video interview.
- Undergoing a cognitive assessment.
- Participation in an assessment center.
- Passing a thorough vetting procedure including reference checks, medical and police clearances, swimming proficiency test (50 meters swimming under two minutes and treading water for one minute), and St John Level 2 first aid certification.
- Successful candidates will be placed in a talent pool and contacted when paid Cabin Crew training becomes available.
