Position Overview
The role involves actively engaging in market making for Singapore Government Securities (SGS) and related derivatives, providing fast and competitive quotes responding to client inquiries. The incumbent will be responsible for managing market risks associated with fixed income trading positions, ensuring adherence to risk limits and internal policies. Additionally, the role requires conducting in-depth research and analysis to underpin trading strategies and investment decisions, alongside supporting daily reporting and administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute market making activities in SGS and associated derivative products, delivering timely and competitive quotes to clients.
- Oversee market risk management of fixed income trades, maintaining exposures within established risk thresholds and policies.
- Perform research and analytical tasks to aid in strategic trading and investment choices.
- Support daily operational reporting and complete relevant administrative duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience trading Singapore Government Securities.
- Comprehensive understanding of Singapore Dollar fixed income markets, including hedging instruments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within team settings.
- Experience or knowledge in China Onshore fixed income markets (e.g., Chinese Government Bonds, Policy Bank, Credit, derivatives) and/or foreign exchange trading is advantageous.
Additional Requirements
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.
- Detail-oriented with a strong sense of integrity and keen awareness of risk management principles.
- Self-driven, proactive mindset with a continuous eagerness to learn.
- Capable of working autonomously as well as within a team framework.
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Mandarin to facilitate communication with Chinese-speaking clients and headquarters personnel.
