Position Summary

The role of Financial Controller requires a seasoned finance leader to oversee all financial activities, compliance, and reporting within the organization. This leadership position reports directly to the CEO and focuses on healthcare finance, particularly revenue cycle management.

Key Duties

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial close cycles.
• Compile and deliver financial reports in compliance with GAAP standards.
• Maintain accounting records on both accrual and cash bases.
• Administer accounts payable and cultivate vendor relationships.
• Supervise accounts receivable functions and enhance cash collections.
• Process payroll ensuring adherence to labor regulations.
• Lead federal, state, and sales tax planning and compliance efforts.
• Coordinate audit activities to enable timely completion of financial audits.
• Handle banking relations and forecast cash flow.
• Manage financial aspects of customer contracts including revenue recognition.
• Create and oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial variance analysis.
• Implement and monitor internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance with SOX and HIPAA.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the accounting team.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 7 years progressive financial management experience, preferably within healthcare or revenue cycle management.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline; CPA credential is preferred.
• Comprehensive mastery of GAAP, financial modeling, and QuickBooks software.
• Experience managing accounts payable, vendor relations, accounts receivable, collections, ADP payroll, banking, credit cards, employee reimbursements, financial audits, and tax obligations (federal, state, sales tax).
• Outstanding analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
