The role
This newly established part-time Financial Accountant position has been introduced to further strengthen the finance team and support the organisation as it continues to grow. You will report to the Finance Manager and join a small, collaborative group where you will take responsibility for key financial accounting tasks.
The position offers a hands-on mix of work, including monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting support, balance sheet reconciliations, year-end assistance, audit preparation, accounts receivable support, cashflow oversight, GST return preparation, and payroll backup. You will also work with stakeholders across the business and contribute to improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packs and related analysis.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Support year-end close processes and audit requests.
- Contribute to accounts receivable processing and follow-up.
- Help manage cashflow information and reporting.
- Prepare and lodge GST returns.
- Provide backup support for payroll as needed.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and support ongoing process improvements.
Role requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role.
- CA qualification, or progress toward completion, is preferred.
- Strong capability in technical accounting and financial reporting.
- Comfort working across end-to-end finance processes.
- Ability to operate effectively in a small team environment.
