Overview
This permanent, full-time position is based at Lynton House within the London Borough of Redbridge. The Finance Officer role involves delivering exceptional, customer-oriented support to finance service users by addressing and resolving queries and service requests. The incumbent will ensure that all finance processes are handled efficiently, accurately, and within set timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Principal Accountant to communicate any issues related to processes, systems, or performance.
- Provide the Team Leader with informed recommendations aimed at enhancing service processes and efficiency.
- Meet set priorities diligently and promptly.
- Respond swiftly to service requests and clear any related queries.
- Maintain accurate control accounts, perform bank reconciliations, clear suspense accounts, handle unpaid items, and manage ad-hoc banking issues promptly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or possess substantial experience working within finance services or large complex organisations.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant financial regulations governing finance services.
- Practical experience and knowledge of cash management, banking procedures, and reconciliations.
- Capable of performing effectively in high-pressure environments with strong time management skills.
- Proficient in gathering, generating, and presenting data using statistical methods to aid decision-making.
- Demonstrated experience identifying service improvements and effectively managing change.
