Finance Manager

About the Role

Situated in North Sydney, NSW, this Finance Manager position offers a salary package between $150,000 and $160,000 plus superannuation and additional benefits. You will play a pivotal leadership role within an iconic global brand, spearheading the entire Finance function. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Finance, you will guide a team of five professionals to align financial operations with organizational goals and fulfill compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare monthly financial results ensuring adherence to reporting standards and deadlines.
• Perform routine reviews of Balance Sheet accounts and reconciliations.
• Oversee the collection of receivables, maintain healthy cash flow, and manage banking relationships.
• Carry out J-SOX auditor responsibilities as required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
• Lead finance improvement projects, including process enhancements, cost reduction initiatives, and preparation for a forthcoming SAP system upgrade.
• Provide counsel to Senior Management on group accounting, including implementation and oversight of Finance Policies.
• Maintain financial records compliant with company policies, accounting standards, and legal mandates.
• Drive projects that enhance operations and support new business ventures.
• Lead and mentor a finance team, conducting regular meetings and formal performance appraisals.
• Safeguard the accuracy and security of financial and reporting systems.
• Coordinate with external auditors to manage annual audits and ensure timely statutory reporting.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and ensure tax compliance.
• Manage inventory controls targeting Days of Supply (DOS), stock turnover, and obsolescence reduction.
• Oversee reliable revenue and expense forecasts and budgeting in collaboration with product and business unit managers.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience as a Finance Manager in a multinational corporation, demonstrated proficiency in SAP or similar large ERP systems, and familiarity with business intelligence and financial modeling tools. Experience in sales and distribution, SOX/JSOX reporting, and a history of successful people leadership is essential. A degree in accounting coupled with CA/CPA certification and advanced Excel capabilities are required. You possess a strategic and analytical mindset with a clear ability to align financial strategies with business objectives and mitigate risks.
