Company overview
Bigbasket, part of the Tata group, is among India’s biggest online grocery platforms and serves more than 13 million customers across 60+ cities and towns. Its ecosystem includes BigBasket, bbnow, bbinstant, bbdaily, fresho, bbmandi, and bbsaathi, covering a broad range of consumer needs.
With a workforce of over 47,000 people, the organisation follows a people-first approach built on humility, transparency, integrity, and respect. It has earned Great Place to Work recognition, including the women-focused certification, and is known for customer focus and fair treatment of gig workers. The company also supports sustainability through electric vehicle deliveries, solar-powered warehouses, and efforts that encourage organic cultivation and healthier soil.
Role summary
This is a full-time remote position focused on strengthening BigBasket’s network of organic sourcing partners. The role centers on finding, onboarding, and maintaining relationships with organic farmers while ensuring they follow organic farming standards and certification requirements.
What the role involves
You will support day-to-day field coordination, including virtual or in-person farm visits when required. The job includes monitoring crop planning and produce quality, checking and validating documents, and working closely with internal teams on procurement and quality verification.
You will also guide farming partners on organic cultivation methods, sustainable agriculture practices, and proper handling after harvest. In addition, you will monitor performance indicators, prepare regular updates and reports, address operational challenges, and help improve the organic supply chain.
Qualifications and expectations
The ideal candidate should understand organic farming methods, certification norms, and sustainable agriculture practices. Prior experience in field operations, farmer coordination, or agri-supply chain work is preferred, especially in fresh produce or retail environments.
Strong communication, relationship management, and stakeholder coordination skills are important for working with farmers, vendors, and internal teams. You should also be able to gather, review, and present data on yield, quality, and supply performance using basic digital tools and spreadsheets.
The role suits someone who is self-driven, comfortable working remotely, and capable of planning work independently. Good time management, problem-solving ability, and a willingness to travel to farming locations when needed are important. Experience with post-harvest handling and basic supply chain processes will be an added advantage. A degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related discipline is preferred, and the role calls for inclusive collaboration with diverse communities.
