Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to handle a wide array of building maintenance duties at Mercer Engineering Research Center properties in Warner Robins, GA. This role involves carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, general upkeep, and locksmith tasks to ensure facility functionality and safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct diverse maintenance activities including repairs and upkeep of buildings and equipment.
- Replace interior and exterior lighting fixtures as necessary.
- Perform light drywall patching and sheetrock repairs.
- Assess and prioritize facilities-related work requests, proposing necessary corrective measures to address issues effectively.
- Relocate, assemble, and organize furniture and equipment according to room layout plans.
- Notify relevant personnel regarding repairs affecting their work environment.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and assist during emergency events.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas.
- Carry out additional duties related to the role as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to acquire as well as keep a Department of Defense security clearance.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Have at least six years of practical experience in general maintenance.
- Demonstrate strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, self-motivation, and capability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
