Role Overview
The Fabrication Supervisor, a full-time on-site position based in Perth, WA, is responsible for managing daily workshop and fabrication activities. Key duties involve scheduling production, distributing tasks to fabricators and welders, and tracking progress to meet timelines and specifications. This leadership role includes guiding the fabrication team with technical expertise on welding and fabrication techniques while upholding safety and quality standards. The supervisor oversees job setups, inspects fabricated parts, addresses production challenges, maintains tools and equipment, and liaises with management and other departments regarding project milestones. Coaching team members, facilitating training efforts, and enhancing processes and cost-effectiveness are integral parts of the job.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Proven leadership abilities including team management, delegation, and productivity oversight.
- Experience in quality assurance, inspecting fabricated elements, and enforcing industry standards.
- Competence in production scheduling, workflow management, and delivery within deadlines.
- Practical knowledge and experience in welding and metal fabrication, familiar with common techniques and materials.
- Capability to train and mentor fabrication and welding staff, promoting skill enhancement and safety compliance.
- Possession of relevant trade qualifications or certificates in fabrication, welding, or related fields.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations applicable to workshop environments.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills enabling effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Background in fabrication or engineering workshops, ideally with supervisory or leadership experience.
