Role Summary
This full-time remote position is for an Estimator focused on home modifications and residential projects. The person in this role will assess client requirements and clinical reports, read plans and specifications, and build detailed cost estimates for home modifications and residential improvement work.
What You Will Do
- Review client needs and clinical documentation to understand the project scope.
- Examine drawings, specifications, and related project information to prepare pricing accurately.
- Request, compare, and assess quotations from suppliers and contractors.
- Prepare scopes of work, quantity take-offs, and bills of quantities.
- Make sure estimates comply with CHSP, HCP, and NDIS funding rules and guidance.
- Work closely with care coordinators, occupational therapists, builders, and tradespeople.
- Share cost and schedule updates with clients and other stakeholders.
- Keep project records accurate and current in the company’s systems.
- Support process improvements, installation risk assessment, and quality checks for completed modifications.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Technology, or a related discipline. Experience in estimating, quantity surveying, drafting, project engineering, site engineering, or a similar construction-related role is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, engineering plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Knowledge of Australian building practices, the National Construction Code (NCC), and Australian Standards is an advantage; training will be provided to the right person.
- Experience in residential renovations, home modifications, disability access work, fit-outs, or commercial construction is beneficial.
- Exposure to estimating or construction management tools such as Simpro is preferred but not required, and training will be provided.
- Strong numerical ability, analytical thinking, and careful attention to detail.
- Capability to produce accurate material take-offs, bills of quantities, and cost estimates.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to juggle several projects and deadlines.
- Comfort using Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work autonomously from a remote location while keeping clear communication with the Australian team.
- Experience with Australian clients or the Australian construction sector is preferred, though not essential.

Comprehensive training will be provided for suitable candidates, including support in Australian building practices and relevant software tools where needed.
