Role Overview

We are seeking a diligent Estimator to join our team to provide accurate, timely estimates that help turn homeowners' visions into reality. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to cost control, ensuring efficient project workflows throughout the construction cycle.

Responsibilities

• Issue purchase orders and requests for quotes at appropriate construction phases.
• Maintain rigorous cost control by checking pricing accuracy, adhering to budgets, and carefully reviewing invoices.
• Review and reconcile interior selections and associated quotes to ensure adherence to timelines.
• Negotiate pricing and terms for models, custom options, and work with trades and suppliers to optimize costs.
• Manage tender requests and assess submissions based on quality and suitability.
• Organize and prioritize estimating tasks aligning with departmental needs.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Construction, Interior Selections, and Design teams to promote smooth operational flows.
• Evaluate custom project quotes thoroughly, applying deep construction knowledge.
• Compile purchase order summaries to analyze individual project profitability.
• Contribute to continuous improvements of estimating processes and the supporting software tools.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience directly related to residential homebuilding.
• Diploma or degree in Building Development Technologies, Architectural Technologies, Construction Management, or a relevant discipline.
• Extensive knowledge of residential construction techniques, materials, and industry standards.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe, BuildTopia, or similar estimating platforms is highly advantageous.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex drawings, prepare detailed estimates, and oversee cost-control mechanisms.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills facilitating effective collaboration across diverse departments.
