Description de l'emploi
Role Overview
H-Squared is seeking a Derivatives Analyst to join a growing investment team that operates at the intersection of portfolio management, trading, and investment strategy. This is a high-visibility position with direct involvement in portfolio management decisions and the chance to help shape investment outcomes for both institutional and private wealth portfolios.
You will collaborate with senior investment professionals, research specialists, and trading teams while contributing to the development of a stronger portfolio management capability. The role suits someone who enjoys combining detailed analysis with strategic thinking and wants to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative investment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Track portfolio exposure, performance, and risk across multiple investment strategies.
- Drive portfolio rebalancing activities and manage the end-to-end trade process so investment decisions are executed accurately.
- Build and improve derivatives-driven portfolio management and hedging approaches.
- Work with research, trading, and investment colleagues to identify ways to strengthen portfolio construction, execution, and operating efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter resource on portfolio and strategy matters, and present investment insights to senior stakeholders and sophisticated clients.
- Help refine portfolio management workflows, systems, and broader team capabilities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant will bring at least 3 years of experience in portfolio management, portfolio analytics, buy-side research, trading, or a similar investment function. Exposure to options, futures, forwards, or other derivative strategies is strongly preferred.
A solid grasp of portfolio construction, implementation, and investment operations is important, along with advanced analytical ability and comfort working with large datasets and financial systems. You should also be able to turn complex investment ideas into clear, practical recommendations and take a proactive approach to improving processes and influencing outcomes.
Professional certifications such as CFOA, CFA, CAIA, or comparable investment credentials are considered an advantage. CFOA is especially relevant because the team works on options-based hedging, futures, forwards, and wider derivative portfolio management.
Strategy Exposure
The team’s work includes sophisticated portfolio solutions such as single-stock hedging using options and structured strategies like protective puts, equity collars, and prepaid variable forwards. It also covers currency hedging programs built with FX forwards and futures, as well as the creation of new derivative tools to improve portfolio implementation and risk control.
Why This Role Stands Out
This opportunity offers direct influence on investment results across institutional and retail portfolios, along with significant exposure to senior decision-makers and key stakeholders. It is also a chance to join an expanding team where ownership, innovation, and new ideas are actively encouraged.
The environment is entrepreneurial, broad in scope, and provides hands-on exposure to portfolio management, trading, implementation, derivatives, and client interaction.
Additional Information
This role is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and is a full-time, onsite position.
The hiring team emphasizes growth, visibility, and the chance to help build a function that sits at the center of the investment process.
