Role Overview
Goodwill of North Georgia is hiring Environmental Services Technicians for both full-time and part-time schedules at its Commerce store. This position supports a clean, safe, and welcoming shopping environment through routine housekeeping and janitorial work.
The role is part of an organization that focuses on turning donations into training and helping people overcome barriers to meaningful employment.
Schedule
The full-time schedule is four consecutive 8-hour days. The part-time schedule covers the remaining three days, also for 8 hours per day.
Key Duties
You will help maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the store, using standard cleaning tools and procedures. Training will be provided for equipment such as buffers and floor scrubbers.
Work Conditions and Standards
The position follows task instructions and must be performed in line with multiple ISO requirements as well as company and state policies to maintain a safe and secure work environment. The job may involve working in heat, cold, and dusty conditions. You may also be asked to handle donated items through loading and unloading, with or without accommodations.
Requirements
Applicants should be able to communicate well and work comfortably with others. Physical stamina is important, including the ability to stand or walk for long periods and to bend, reach, and grasp throughout the workday. You should also be able to push, pull, or lift up to 30 lbs with or without accommodations.
Preferred Background
A high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent qualification is preferred. Prior experience of one year or more in housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial work is also preferred.
