Description de l'emploi
Role overview
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Environmental Enforcement Officer based at Aura Business Centre in East Lindsey, Skegness (PE25 3SJ). The position supports local environmental enforcement work across East Lindsey, with a focus on keeping communities cleaner, safer, and better protected. The role combines field enforcement, investigation, public-facing engagement, education, and accurate case handling.
The post is office-and-field based, and candidates must be able to drive a company vehicle. For insurance reasons, applicants must be 21 or older and hold a valid Full UK Driving Licence.
Pay, hours, and working pattern
The hourly pay rate is £13.45, with a 37.5-hour working week. Shifts are scheduled across 5 days out of 7, generally between 07:00 and 19:00. Weekend work may be needed depending on operational demand, and a flexible approach is expected.
What the job involves
You will carry out both planned and responsive patrols across East Lindsey to identify and address environmental offences. The work includes investigating issues such as fly-tipping, waste-related offences, abandoned vehicles, graffiti, littering, and other forms of environmental crime. You will also speak with residents, members of the public, and local businesses in a professional and constructive manner.
A major part of the role is helping people understand environmental rules and encouraging compliance through education. Where appropriate, you will issue Fixed Penalty Notices, collect evidence, prepare reports and case files, and support any legal action by providing statements and other required documentation. The role also involves using enforcement technology and surveillance equipment, keeping records up to date, and ensuring all work follows legal requirements and company procedures.
Key responsibilities
The role requires a balanced mix of enforcement, investigation, communication, and administration. You will be expected to work independently, make sound decisions in the field, and maintain a professional standard at all times.
What you need
Applicants should have strong communication and interpersonal abilities, confidence when dealing with the public, and the judgement to work on their own. Good attention to detail, solid report-writing skills, and the ability to stay calm and professional outdoors in all weather conditions are important. A flexible and adaptable mindset is essential.
Essential requirements include a Full UK Driving Licence, age 21 or above for vehicle insurance purposes, a Basic DBS check, and the ability to provide a complete 5-year checkable employment history. Previous experience in enforcement, security, customer service, or another public-facing role is helpful, but not mandatory.
Why this role may appeal
This is a permanent position with a company vehicle provided for operational duties. You can also expect accredited training, recognised qualifications, career development opportunities, support from a professional team, wellbeing resources through the Kingdom Colleague App, and access to an Employee Assistance Programme. The organisation offers the chance to build a long-term career within a growing environment.
About the employer
Kingdom provides environmental enforcement services across the UK, working with local authorities to address littering, fly-tipping, waste offences, and anti-social behaviour. The wider aim is to help create cleaner, greener, and safer communities through enforcement, education, and support for local environmental initiatives.
