About the role
This contract role is for seasoned writers and editors who can assess and improve AI-generated text at an advanced level. Your expertise in language, tone, and structure will help influence how AI presents information and communicates with users at scale.

- Engagement type: Hourly contract
- Work mode: Fully remote
- Time commitment: 10 to 40 hours per week
What you will be doing
- Review AI-produced writing for clarity, voice, factual accuracy, and overall structure
- Make careful editorial calls on complicated or unclear content
- Check large content sets for consistency and polish
- Share detailed, organized feedback and explain the reasoning behind edits
- Maintain strong editorial quality across different subjects and content formats
- Operate independently and manage work asynchronously according to your own schedule
Profile of the ideal candidate
- Strong background in advanced English writing and editing, with the ability to identify issues and explain them clearly
- Excellent attention to detail and sound editorial decision-making
- Comfortable handling sensitive or high-impact choices around phrasing, organization, and style
- Able to manage complex tasks with minimal oversight
- Master’s degree or above in English, Humanities, Journalism, or a related field is preferred
- Must be based in the United States
- Previous AI-specific experience is not necessary
Preferred background
- Experience in professional editing, publishing, or content strategy
- Exposure to editorial review or quality assurance processes
- Knowledge of common style guides such as AP, Chicago, or MLA
