English Language Specialist

Overview

This is a remote contract opportunity for an English language specialist working on AI-related content quality tasks. The role focuses on improving machine-generated text, supporting language training efforts, and maintaining editorial consistency. The expected commitment is 10 to 40 hours per week, and compensation is set at USD 20 to USD 100 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Review AI-written English content and improve it for grammar, sentence structure, clarity, and overall readability.
• Carry out detailed research to verify facts and support the reliability of training material.
• Use AP Style, proofreading, and copyediting standards across a wide variety of written content.
• Create and improve prompts, tone guidance, and style rules for language model outputs.
• Examine and label text data to help strengthen AI understanding and generation quality.
• Work with teams across functions to spot improvement opportunities and maintain strong language standards.

Requirements

• Advanced English fluency with strong attention to grammar, syntax, and sentence-level detail.
• At least professional experience in copyediting, proofreading, or linguistics-related work.
• Good reading comprehension and the ability to adjust writing to different tones and styles.
• Working knowledge of AP Style and other established editorial conventions.
• Strong research ability, including the capacity to organize and explain complex information clearly.
