Description de l'emploi

Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to serve as the onsite engineering liaison for a prominent industrial facility in Central Queensland. This role involves direct interaction with the plant, acting as the primary engineering resource for project, operations, and maintenance teams rather than working remotely from an office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main onsite engineering contact for stakeholders involved in projects, operations, and maintenance.
  • Identify, prioritize, and define scopes for brownfield, Management of Change (MOC), and small-to-medium engineering work packages.
  • Lead site inspections to collect field data, note constraints, and clarify assumptions.
  • Translate site needs into detailed and unambiguous engineering instructions for an offshore engineering team.
  • Coordinate package initiation, work packaging, alignment among disciplines, and planning of delivery schedules.
  • Manage technical inquiries, review feedback, and resolve issues between the site team and design engineers.
  • Monitor progress, track action items, assess risks, and oversee decisions across multiple packages.
  • Foster client trust through visible commitment, prompt responsiveness, and transparent communication.

Requirements

  • Engineering qualification in any discipline with substantial experience in Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) related scopes.
  • Proven background working on brownfield, operational plants, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Understanding of MOC-driven engineering processes, site operational constraints, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to convert site observations and requirements into clear, actionable engineering deliverables and scopes of work.
  • Effective engagement skills to collaborate with operations, maintenance, reliability, and project stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with offshore or remote engineering teams is highly valued.
  • Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or experience working alongside RPEQ and local compliance partners is advantageous but not required.

Why Join Us

This opportunity offers genuine ownership at the intersection of site operations and engineering services on a live, industrial plant. You will enjoy autonomy in defining how engineering work is identified, scoped, and executed. Although based in Gladstone is preferred, candidates situated in Brisbane willing to adopt a site-focused role are encouraged to apply.

Additional Information

Location: Gladstone, Queensland (Brisbane candidates considered for site-focused arrangement)
Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite engagement with remote coordination of global teams
Contact: Direct resumes via email or the company website (contact details not included here)
