Description de l'emploi

Job purpose

This role is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and providing technical support for electrical maintenance across ADNOC-owned properties, including residential and VIP villas, as well as other owned and leased assets in Abu Dhabi City and Ruwais City. The objective is to maintain high operating efficiency and extend the usable life of electrical and electronic systems through effective design, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, expansion, and upgrades.

Operation and maintenance services

  • Lead and monitor electrical maintenance activities handled by assigned staff, Hard FM service providers, and other support teams to ensure building operations, system reliability, SLA compliance, KPI adherence, and alignment with approved engineering methods for ADNOC properties, including office buildings and VIP staff accommodations inside and outside Abu Dhabi.
  • Develop yearly preventive and predictive maintenance plans for electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Review and adjust maintenance schedules submitted by contractors, align them with failure trends and operating conditions, and advise the Senior Engineer on required changes. Audit scheduled maintenance work to confirm quality, correct spare parts usage, and timely completion in line with company policies and engineering standards.
  • Evaluate monthly and periodic maintenance programs to identify completed versus planned work, investigate delays, and take corrective measures. Examine equipment performance and maintenance issues, and ensure technical support is provided to resolve faults.
  • Support supervisors in preparing annual preventive and predictive maintenance programs by providing operating parameters and technical direction so maintenance is completed according to manufacturer guidance and professional standards, helping preserve ADNOC assets and services.
  • Oversee smooth operation of BMS control room activities and controls, ensuring best-practice engineering performance and escalating any non-conformities to the Senior Engineer.
  • Inspect properties to confirm that supervisors and contractors respond properly to routine maintenance requests; attend to major non-routine issues, investigate complaints, determine the cause of failures, define scope and requirements, and supervise execution to ensure quality and prompt completion.
  • Plan and coordinate inspections for ADNOC-owned properties, VIP villas, and other premises using appropriate checklists. Estimate the time and recurring cost required for maintenance or alterations, define priorities, and coordinate contractor deployment.
  • Coordinate and propose electrical modifications or alterations to improve operational efficiency and ensure uninterrupted availability.
  • Prepare annual requirements for equipment and spare parts, advise store and materials teams on procurement planning, and ensure stock and non-stock items are available on time. Inspect materials before acceptance.

Commercial and reporting responsibilities

  • Review contractor quotations for petty works, recommend rate approvals, verify contractor invoices, and submit recommendations to the Senior Engineer for action.
  • Implement preventive maintenance plans, checklists, method statements, and risk assessment procedures within O&M services.
  • Take part in contractor performance evaluations and assess monthly progress reports and payment certificates submitted by service providers.
  • Provide technical input on layouts when requested by directorates, issue correct operational and installation guidance, review drawings, sketches, and reports, and propose improvements, upgrades, and replacement solutions for obsolete equipment and systems.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly activity reports covering completed work, areas for improvement, and recommendations on the condition of buildings, electrical equipment, and the quality of maintenance service.

Modifications and project support

  • Prepare feasibility studies, engineering drawings, and cost estimates for electrical and electronic additions, changes, expansions, and upgrades, ensuring compliance with company policy, manufacturer specifications, and engineering best practices.
  • Work with the projects team on active and upcoming ADNOC electrical projects until completion and handover to the maintenance department.
  • Help prepare technical specifications and scope of work for Procurement Services so contracts and tenders can be developed for annual or long-term maintenance and installation needs, including requirements for new properties handed over to the electrical maintenance section.
  • Apply quality management procedures for modification and minor projects through method statements, risk assessments, ITP, MIR, WIR, PTW, material submissions, and document transmittals.
  • Support implementation of LEED requirements for modification works at ADNOC HQ.

Energy management

  • Support the implementation of the energy management system for electrical installations, follow the approved methods and plans, and monitor progress on energy action plans.
  • Assist in energy audits and risk assessment surveys for ADNOC properties, group companies, and academic institutions.
  • Help develop operating plans for electrical systems that promote the lowest practical energy consumption.
  • Review and maintain tracking sheets for LEED O&M requirements to ensure they remain current for ADNOC HQ.

Civil projects and engineering coordination

  • Review documents received from the Civil Project unit, including concept design reports, material submittals, shop drawings, testing and commissioning procedures, asset registers, as-built drawings, and O&M manuals, and provide relevant comments and feedback.
  • Participate in factory acceptance tests, testing and commissioning, training, snagging, and de-snagging for ongoing and upcoming projects with CP&ES, and ensure the handover and takeover process is completed smoothly while electrical supervisors follow the same standards.

Safety and compliance

  • Help improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability by reducing accidents, damage, and financial losses.
  • Coordinate with HSE and contribute to activity reviews to identify hazards and risks, then implement necessary mitigation measures to maintain safe working conditions.
  • Follow ADNOC accountability framework requirements and maintain full HSE compliance.

Qualification and experience

A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required. The role calls for 6 years of professional experience in electrical maintenance within a large organization, along with knowledge of inventory control, budgeting, occupational hazards, and safety precautions. The position also requires the ability to plan and schedule daily and weekly workloads and communicate effectively in both written and spoken form. PMP or CFM certification is preferred.
