About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Outreach and Support Coordinator to join the Windfall Ecology Centre's Energy and Water Reporting and Benchmarking (EWRB) program. Based in Aurora, Ontario, this full-time position requires approximately 35 hours weekly, with a hybrid work model that includes three days onsite each week. You will report directly to the Manager of Sustainable Business Programs.
This role supports building owners in meeting energy and water reporting obligations to promote climate action, sustainability, and community resilience throughout Ontario. Windfall Ecology Centre is a non-profit social enterprise with 25 years of experience providing community-focused climate initiatives centered on energy, emissions reduction, and water sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage and conduct outreach to building owners, property managers, and stakeholders involved in EWRB compliance.
- Communicate effectively via email, phone, and online platforms to foster trust, awareness, and active participation among stakeholders.
- Deliver public education on energy performance and building benchmarking.
- Offer frontline support guiding participants through the EWRB reporting process, especially using ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager software.
- Answer routine queries and escalate complex problems to specialized program staff.
- Track and analyze outreach activity and participant engagement using a CRM system.
- Monitor reporting progress and follow up on incomplete or missing submissions to ensure compliance.
- Support internal documentation and compile reports on outreach efforts and emerging trends.
Candidate Profile and Skills
- Post-secondary education in fields such as environmental studies, sustainability, urban planning, energy management, or related disciplines; equivalent experience also considered.
- At least one year of experience in program implementation, stakeholder liaison, or client support, preferably linked to energy or sustainability sectors.
- Knowledge of building energy concepts and tools, with familiarity in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager highly advantageous.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building aptitude, with the capacity to present technical information clearly to non-experts.
- Strong organizational skills with an ability to juggle multiple tasks, stakeholders, and deadlines efficiently.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, CRM software, and data tracking applications.
- Capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively within a hybrid workplace setting.
Additional Information
This position may receive partial funding through ECO Canada, a program supported by the Government of Canada. It is open to candidates aged 15 to 30 who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with refugee status in Canada.
The annual salary range for this opportunity is $47,000 to $52,000.
