Role Summary
This position serves as the principal coordinator and controller for People & Culture (P&C) benefits management across the organization. The consultant will oversee the entire benefits lifecycle, ensuring precise transaction handling, accurate financial reconciliations, and effective management of vendor relationships. They will provide expert advisory support to employees and line managers on benefits offered, support pension board activities, and uphold data integrity and compliance within payroll and core master data systems.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive administration of medical, retirement, and risk benefits to ensure employees consistently access their entitled benefits.
- Handle enrolment processes for all eligible employees into designated benefit programs, maintaining immediate coverage aligned with employment contracts.
- Conduct recurring financial reconciliations between benefits payments and internal records, verifying conditions before payment and performing quality assurance afterward to resolve discrepancies.
- Carry out initial quality assurance on benefit-related data entries in P&C systems to sustain data accuracy and integrity.
- Supervise service provider performance against agreed Service Level Agreements to maintain high-quality support for employees.
- Serve as the primary contact for all employee inquiries related to benefits, including bursaries and funeral claims, ensuring a positive experience.
- Maintain precise benefit master data within payroll and core master data systems as a dependable source for payroll processing and regulatory reporting.
- Produce detailed reports on benefits utilization and costs for executive committees and management to guide strategic choices.
- Organize awareness sessions and develop communication materials to inform employees about their benefits and encourage appropriate use.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities within benefits data management to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Educational background in Business Commerce, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Psychology, or Social Sciences is required.
- Postgraduate qualifications in Finance and Accounting or Human Resources are advantageous.
- Between 5 to 7 years of experience in People & Culture operations focusing on benefits administration, payroll, or financial reconciliation.
- Proven ability to manage large datasets and conduct complex vendor reconciliations.
