The This Old House (TOH) digital team seeks a Digital Media Marketing Manager to spearhead lifecycle marketing, audience engagement, and growth for the TOH Insider membership program. This position will own strategy, execution, optimization, and reporting of Insider marketing efforts across email, automation, retention, and conversion campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead lifecycle marketing strategies specific to the TOH Insider membership.
- Manage email campaigns, automated customer journeys, retention programs, and conversion funnels.
- Create and oversee audience segmentation, lifecycle cohorts, and personalized automation workflows using Ortto or similar marketing automation tools.
- Develop strategies aimed at acquiring new members, boosting engagement, and improving retention.
- Analyze campaign results and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
- Collaborate with editorial and production teams to integrate Insider marketing with broader content initiatives.
- Support TOH’s newsletter efforts including general and commerce-related communications.
- Oversee relationships with external creative and production agencies for campaign design and execution.
- Coordinate campaign quality assurance, scheduling, approvals, and deployment.
- Proactively monitor marketing operations, validate data quality, campaign logic, and resolve workflow issues by liaising with technical teams.
- Establish reporting frameworks, testing protocols, and key performance indicators to support Insider program growth.
- Work closely with product, analytics, and leadership to identify opportunities for audience growth and refine membership strategy.
- Maintain consistent brand voice across all lifecycle marketing communications.
- Identify and execute improvements for conversion rates, member engagement, and retention through systematic testing and optimization.
Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum five years in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, CRM, or audience development.
- Experience managing subscription, membership, or direct-to-consumer marketing programs.
- In-depth knowledge of lifecycle marketing strategies, retention funnels, and audience segmentation.
- Hands-on expertise with marketing automation platforms, preferably Ortto or equivalents.
- Proven ability to design and optimize automated customer journeys.
- Analytical mindset to interpret marketing data and audience behaviors effectively.
- Strong skills in project management and organization.
- Excellent copywriting and messaging capabilities.
- Experience managing external creative or agency partnerships.
- A balanced approach between strategic planning and practical execution.
- Comfort with fast-paced, collaborative, content-driven work environments.
- Passion for audience growth, digital media, and engagement.
- Background in media, publishing, streaming, or content-centric brands preferred.
- Knowledge of subscription or membership business models.
- Experience with commerce or affiliate marketing campaigns.
- Understanding of email deliverability best practices, A/B testing, and performance optimization.
- Comfort collaborating across editorial, social, and product teams.
Work Arrangement and Benefits
This position is based in Concord, Massachusetts, with an in-office schedule from Monday through Thursday and an option to work remotely on Fridays. Roku fosters an inclusive workplace culture centered on collaboration, talent, and innovation, emphasizing pragmatic problem-solving.
Compensation ranges between $126,000 and $144,000 annually, complemented by equity opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, life and disability coverage, parental leave, wellness programs, and paid time off. Local benefits may vary based on geography.
